I have photographed a LOT of babies, but I can honestly say I think Miss Padgett has the most hair of any newborn I have ever photographed! Between her beautiful locks and those irresistible cheeks, I was in love! Plus she was super sweet for her portraits– heaven!

Many of you already know that I am very active in photography competitions both as a competitor, a mentor and as a judge. I adore the competitions– they are a personal challenge to always try to out-do myself and to push my creativity. I have been competing in the photography categories for several years, but this year I entered my first art case ever at the Southeastern Professional Photographers (SEPPA) competition.
Art cases are judged a bit differently than the photography, in that not only the final image is judged, but the judges also view the starting image and the digital work done to the image is also considered in the score. It is a hugely daunting endeavor to put work in to be judged by experts in not only photography but also in digital manipulations like Photoshop and Painter.
The SEPPA competition includes photographers in thirteen states, so there is not only a LOT of competition, but there are a LOT of amazing photographers and artists who enter every year. This was my first year entering a case in both photography and art… and drumroll please… my image scores placed me in the Top Ten for photography AND the Top Ten for art! I can hardly believe it myself! I am officially one of the Top Ten Photographers in the Southeast and the Top Ten Artists in the Southeast for 2016! Holy Moly!
I can’t wait to share the images I entered, but I have to keep them top secret until after national judging this summer. So, just stay tuned!

Little Miss Eva was back in the studio for her next baby plan session and I love how the photos turned out! She is such a beautiful baby with those big brown eyes and lashes for miles! I want to call her “Eva the Diva”, but she is far too sweet to ever be a true diva! What a doll!

Apr 13, 2016 | Headshots
I photograph headshots all the time in our Tallahassee studio, but its not often that I get a chance to photograph big personalities, let alone in their natural environment! When I first met Will Dance and his producer, Junior, it was obvious that we needed to do their new marketing headshots in the radio station where they broadcast The Will Dance Show. Since Will is known as “The Pirate Hunter” and its a conservative talk radio show and station, I knew that there were several elements I really wanted to include. I wanted the obvious pirate flag in the headshot, but also the color red, strength and having Will face to the right representing his right wing beliefs. I loved getting to know the guys, I had so much fun with the creative freedom that they gave me and while some of the images might look tough I can honestly say we were bursting into laughter between each one. Thanks again Will and Junior for bringing me out to the Tallahassee station for your new headshots!

Teeny tiny little Jonathan was only a week old when his mom and dad brought him into the studio for his newborn portrait session. He was such an awesome model– never really crying! The biggest sound I think I got was a squeak! Such a sweet mouse!!
