When a mom loves photographs very often we see the same problem… she has TONS of images of her kids, her husband, etc. but hardly any that include her! This was the exact problem for the McNair family, so our beach portrait special was the perfect chance for her to be in front of the camera and make some memories WITH her family. Having so few images that include their mom will make these extra special for the kids, especially when they are older and I am so glad we were able to be a part of that!

Watching a two year old step onto the beach is one of the funniest things you can ever witness. Its like you flip a “wild switch” inside their head and it takes everything that they have to not go barreling into the ocean. We had such a blast with the Winfield family and luckily at the end of the session, Nathan was able to run head first into the waves.

What do a two year old and an eight month old on a warm spring morning at the park add up to?? Well, for us, lots of silliness and giggles! The Campbell family joined us last week at Dorothy B. Oven park for their first family portrait since their little princess came into the world. Its so incredible special to photograph a family’s first portrait together and know these are images they will always treasure!

I started laughing the moment Neha walked in the door– with a rack of clothes, a big bag of shoes, accessories, etc. The lady came prepared! Outfit changes for everyone, lots of giggles and silliness… in other words, a fabulous session that I loved!

I love big families– they have such a natural energy to them. There is always something going on, someone to talk to, fight with, hug or just be near. The Barksdales are definitely a great example of this– they took over the studio one afternoon this week and at any given point during the session there were 10 different things going on. It always cracks me up when we photograph large families, just because you never know what the kiddos are going to do– finger in the nose, punch your brother, jump off the chair, etc. It definitely made my afternoon lively! 🙂
