Jennifer & Marcus

Jennifer & Marcus

Well Covid-19 threw a lot of curve balls at 2020 brides, many choosing to postpone or even cancel there events.  For Jennifer and Marcus, they chose to move forward and modify their plans, rather than putting life on hold.  The church looks a bit different with masks and tape marking off every other pew.  The reception couldn’t be held at the Women’s Club, so Jennifer’s mom hosted everyone in tents in her backyard.  We still went by the Women’s Club and used it as a backdrop for some portraits though!  While I know it wasn’t the wedding Jennifer dreamed of, it was a day of love, joy and hope.  I think most of the guests (and myself) rejoiced at an opportunity to celebrate, to play, and have some kind of “normal”.

Becca and Brandon really wanted to honor tradition with their wedding.  They no longer live in Quincy, but they came back to have their wedding ceremony in the same church as their parents and grandparents and to have the reception at the Swano club, as their parents did before them.  Even the wedding date was chosen to honor their family.

Even though they honored family and traditional, I would definitely say the party was anything but traditional!  It was such a fun celebration with endless dancing and laughter.  It was such a joy to photograph!

Rachel & Tom

Rachel & Tom

Some couples you meet and instantly see why they are together.  You see the joy in their eyes and that life together is so much better for them.  Rachel and Tom are definitely this couple.  I swear they both light up when they see each other and probably the biggest challenge of the wedding day was to get an image of them together when they WEREN’T laughing!

The entire day was such a joy to photograph– it was a day filled with family, friends and laughter!  (Yes, that sounds like a Hallmark commercial, but I swear its how the day felt!)  Hotel Duval was the perfect setting for their art deco themed wedding and I ADORE the use of purple, rose gold and books into their table decor.

I will say, it may possibly be the only wedding I have ever photographed that had a 3 minute high-five hand off of the bride, extensive Friends quotes, and lobster hats as part of the ceremony.  The wedding was as unique as Rachel and Tom and it is definitely a wedding I will never forget!

Weddings don’t get much better than Laura and Alex’s at Pearl in the Wild!  Yes, it was August and it was HOT, but everyone was so happy, fun and absolutely focused on giving this couple the perfect day!

I had an absolute blast photographing their special day and becoming friends with such a sweet loving couple!  I would photograph weddings every day if they were all this fun!

Tracey & Roger

Tracey & Roger

Just after Christmas, Tracey and Roger had their intimate family-focused wedding at Wakulla Springs Lodge.  When I say family-focused, I mean that that could have easily been the wedding theme.  The bride and groom each chose their parents to stand as their attendants, with the groom’s daughter as the flowergirl.  It was a day full of emotion but I don’t think I have ever seen so much love and support for the bride and groom!
