Twice a year I offer mini-sessions at Tallahassee’s most iconic portrait location– Maclay Gardens.  The gardens are probably the most popular portrait location in Tallahassee, with the long brick pathway, huge oaks and draping Spanish moss, its no surprise why!  Here are some of the images from the family portrait mini-sessions we did at Maclay Gardens back in November.

After thirteen years of photographing Ducks and Bunnies mini-sessions I thought I would be tired or burned out of the experience, but I honestly get reinvigorated each and every year.  I always try to change up the set a bit and stretch myself creatively, but the best part is always seeing the children’s faces as they interact with the animals!

This year is definitely one of the best years yet!  The weather was perfect and we had SO many adorable families share their kids with us!  Plus, we had a super model bunny this year who posed perfectly for the camera!

Most family portrait sessions are with small children. For some reason, as our children grow, we stop having family portraits made.  Its such a shame to not document those memories for all those years!  Plus, once your kids are big, the sessions are SO much less stressful on the parents!  I am so glad I could capture the first family session for the Weaver family and they didn’t put off capturing these memories for any longer!

Alfred B Maclay Gardens is one of the most iconic locations in Tallahassee for portrait sessions, but each spring Maclay Gardens becomes an absolute floral wonderland!  We always try to schedule a day of family mini-sessions during the height of blooming and I love the images from the sweet families that joined us!  We will be having another day of family mini portrait sessions in November, so be sure to stay tuned!!
