Its never easy getting eleven people in coordinating outfits and camera ready, but the Jefferson family made it look effortless! I love how the colors match the perfect gulf sunset we got out at the beach and the tide receded enough to get everyone out to the sandbar! I love creating beach portraits in this quiet, serene location!

I don’t care how old you are, playing dress up is fun! While Keyna was glammed up by our hair and makeup artist (Laura J Artistry), little Miss D did her own makeup! I would giggle every time I checked on them because she added layer on layer of eyeshadow. She is definitely a sassy little diva and she is so excited to meet her baby sister!

This mama came into the studio with two beautiful maternity gowns for me to photograph! I have dozens of gowns here at the studio, but nothing like what she brought! How fun to play and photograph! I love getting glamorous with these expecting mothers and capturing the beauty of their pregnancy!

I love doing maternity sessions that include big brothers and sisters in the making! Its so cool documenting their last moments as a family of three! I know years from now this baby will have such a sense of love and belonging when they view the album from this session. Seeing how happy and excited their family is to welcome them into this world is an unbelieveable gift to this new baby!
I don’t want to ruin the surprise for anyone… but pregnancy is tough. Its definitely not the time when you feel your most glamorous and its easy to understand why lots of women skip doing maternity portraits… BUT what better time to play dress up in the dozens of different maternity gowns we have here at the studio? Why not get dolled up and at least have a few hours of celebrating this pregnant body?
I adore creating maternity portraits because I know that these will be cherished memories years down the road. I love knowing that these babies will be able to look back and see how much they were loved before they ever entered the world. They will be able to see the special bond their parents had with them and hopefully share these images with their own children. Looking back, as bad as I felt pregnant, I still wish I had captured that time and could share it with my children.
