Please help us give some smiles this Christmas!

Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can’t afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life.

This year, Long’s Photography is working to make a difference.  From December 1-25th we will be accepting online donations for Operation Smile.  For each dollar that is donated, we will provide a matching donation to Operation Smile AND your name will be entered to win a $700 prize pack including a family portrait session, framed portrait and prints.  If you wish to donate $1, your name will be entered once, $100 will get you 100 entries, and so on.  To donate, please CLICK HERE

Operation Smile is an international charity providing much needed surgical services– more 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities since 1982.  For every $240 that is raised, another child will receive a surgery.  For more information about Operation Smile, please go to www.OperationSmile.com

We hope you will help us heal children’s smiles and bring hope for a better future.  Please donate as much as you can to help these children!  To donate, please CLICK HERE

A Personal Project

A few months ago Olyn and I had an idea for a wedding album for print competition that breaks the mold a bit.  We went really dark with the album and created something a bit controversial and in our opinion, pretty cool.  We were so lucky to have a few clients help with our bizarre vision and while the judges didn’t love it, Olyn and I still do.  🙂

Santa Came to Town! {Tallahassee holiday portraits}

Santa came by the studio as an early stop on his busy holiday schedule.  We had a jam packed day full of sessions with the big guy and there are SO many amazingly cute images!  We have smiles and giggles, secrets whispered to Santa and lots of letters that he took back to the North Pole with him.  while I can’t share sneak peeks from all the sessions, I can share a quick few with my two handsome guys!

Thatcher and Ethan

The pumpkin set this year was our best ever and I had the greatest time with all the kiddos who came out for the event!  I wish there was time to blog images from all the sessions because I have SO many favorites, but since I am working furiously to get all the images done in time for the order sessions, I decided to just blog a few of my cute boys.  Yep, I am bragging again! 🙂

Thatcher Football Portraits {Tallahassee sports photos}

Our house is always a frenzy of football in the fall.  Olyn and I are both big college football fans, so SportsCenter and ESPNU are mainstays around our house.  This year, the football mania went into overdrive, as Thatcher played his first year of Pop Warner football.  His Green Eagle Tiny Mite team resembled the Bad News Bears a lot more than the Philadelphia Eagles, but he had so much fun playing!  After a very HOT, busy, crazy season, I FINALLY found time to do his football portraits!  I know I am the proud mom and photographer, but I just LOVE the images we captured of him!  So, here I am, bragging about my big boy– the cutest, most enthusiastic, wild, Green Eagle Tiny Mite!

Donald & Helen

I love photographing weddings.  Its where I started with photography and I think at heart I will always be a wedding photographer.  🙂  It isn’t often that you get to work for a couple you really and truly love, so when my brother announced that he and Helen were getting married, I knew I would get to photograph a wedding FULL of people that I love.  I have to admit, it was really hard to narrow down the images– especially the ones of our friends and family at the reception, but I did my best to keep it manageable!
