The Tallahassee Democrat asked Olyn and I to photograph the cover of “Your Health” magazine for June and we enthusiastically agreed. We had no idea that we would meet the most energetic, exuberant, inspiring woman as part of it! The cover of this issue features Kitty Flynn, a long time Tallahassee real estate agent and a cancer survivor. Kitty’s tale of strength, optimism and determination is so inspiring, as is her work to create the healing garden at the new TMH Cancer Center. Photographing Kitty in the garden she helped create really gave Olyn and I the greatest reward and we are so thankful we were included in this project. For the magazine, it was Olyn’s shot that won the cover spot!

I will be teaching a Photo Basics class on Saturday, June 25th from 9am until 1pm at our studio. This class is geared to NON-professional photographers! This class is for the average mom who wants to learn how to take better photos of her children. In the class, we will cover the basics of exposure, composition, camera functions and some basic photo editing using free software. Olyn is going to kill me for blogging about this, but its too funny not to! I am in near hysterical laughter through all of our senior portrait sessions because somehow they turn Olyn into a 17 year old girl. I think the man is more of a teenage girl than I ever was! He is exclaiming, “OMG!”, “Work it girl!”, and “So Hawt!” I think I will just keep booking these sessions for the comic relief of it! Thankfully Ashley found him to be pretty funny and was super cool for her session with us!

We love all our wedding clients, but photographing my brother and his fiance is extra special. They were such good clients too and never complained… despite the bugs, random honking cars and the snake-infested weeds I made them trek into. Thank goodness they love me and trust me, or this could have really been a challenge! Needless to say, Olyn and I are super-excited to photograph their September wedding!
