Storybook Santa 2026 Is Here: Reservations Are Now Open!
There are only a handful of Christmases when they completely believe.
When reindeer really can fly. When elves are hard at work at the North Pole. When a half-eaten cookie on Christmas morning is indisputable evidence that Santa was there.
And when meeting Santa isn’t simply exciting.
It’s magic.
Long’s Photography is thrilled to announce that 2026 Storybook Santa reservations are officially OPEN!
This isn’t simply a Santa photo session.
It’s 30 private minutes of Christmas magic created especially for your child.
More Than Santa Pictures
We’ve designed Storybook Santa around something very simple:
Children need time to experience the magic.
There are no crowded lines of families waiting behind you. No rushing your child onto Santa’s lap, asking for a smile and hurrying them away.
Instead, your family receives a private Storybook Santa appointment where your children have time to actually get to know Santa.
They can talk.
They can laugh.
They can tell him what they want for Christmas.
They can ask the VERY important questions children have apparently been saving all year.
And Santa may have a few questions for them, too. 🎅🏻
While all of that is happening, we’re photographing the real moments.
The suspicious first look.
The enormous smile.
The whispered secret.
The uncontrollable laugh.
And that wonderful expression that says:
Wait. Is this REALLY Santa?
Those are the photographs we love most.
The Magic Begins Before You Arrive
One of our favorite parts of Storybook Santa happens before your child ever walks through our studio doors.
Because Santa is expecting them.
Your Storybook Santa experience includes a special personalized communication from Santa before your visit.
Imagine your child discovering something addressed especially to them from the North Pole.
Their name.
Their invitation.
Proof that Santa knows they’re coming.
Suddenly, Storybook Santa isn’t simply something Mom and Dad put on the calendar.
It’s an invitation from Santa.
And the story has already begun.
30 Private Minutes With Santa
During their private Storybook Santa experience, children have plenty of time to interact naturally with Santa.
Depending on your child, that might mean stories, Christmas magic, decorating, pretending to be reindeer, serious North Pole discussions, milk and cookies, or an extremely detailed explanation of everything they would like for Christmas.
Santa has been warned about that last one.
Throughout the experience, we’re creating beautiful professional photographs without turning every moment into a pose.
Because we’ve learned something after more than two decades of photographing children:
The easiest way to get a genuine smile isn’t to ask for one.
It’s to give a child something worth smiling about.
For Babies, Toddlers and Big Kids, Too
Storybook Santa is designed for children from newborn to 100.
For babies, it’s a chance to preserve those impossibly tiny first Christmases.
For toddlers and preschoolers, we’re right in the heart of the magical years when Santa, elves and flying reindeer are unquestionably real.
Those Christmases might be the most precious of all.
Because parents know something children don’t.
There will eventually be a Christmas when they begin asking different questions.
One year, Santa will become a little less mysterious.
The magic will change.
But not this Christmas.
Santa Photos You’ll Want to Keep
Of course, we’re photographers.
So while creating a magical experience for your children is incredibly important to us, we’re also creating something for you.
Photographs.
Not simply pictures of what your child looked like this Christmas.
Photographs that remind you what Christmas felt like to them.
Twenty years from now, you may not remember which toy was at the top of their Christmas list.
But you’ll see that photograph.
You’ll see those tiny hands.
That missing tooth.
Those chubby cheeks.
That look of absolute wonder.
And you’ll remember:
They really believed.
A Christmas Gift From Grandparents
Grandparents, this one is for you, too.
If you’ve reached the point where your grandchildren already have enough toys to stock a small department store, consider giving them something different this Christmas.
Give them an experience.
A Storybook Santa experience can become a Christmas gift for your grandchildren and a beautiful memory for your entire family.
Because toys get outgrown.
Batteries die.
Tiny plastic pieces mysteriously migrate underneath the sofa.
But photographs of your grandchildren at these ages?
Those become more valuable with every Christmas that passes.
What Should Children Wear?
We recommend keeping clothing classic and timeless.
Think beautiful Christmas dresses, velvet, plaid, cream, deep red, evergreen, handsome sweaters and traditional holiday clothing.
Our goal is to create portraits that feel just as beautiful hanging in your home years from now as they do this Christmas.
And don’t worry if you aren’t sure what will photograph best. We’re happy to help you plan.
Storybook Santa Reservations Are Now Open
Storybook Santa appointments are intentionally limited.
That’s important.
The entire experience is built around giving each family private, unrushed time with Santa. We aren’t interested in squeezing as many children as possible into one day.
We want your child to have time to settle in.
To explore.
To talk.
To laugh.
To believe.
Once the available Storybook Santa appointments are reserved, we cannot simply squeeze another family between appointments without changing the experience we’ve worked so carefully to create.
So if Storybook Santa is going to be part of your family’s Christmas this year, we recommend reserving your appointment early.
Before They Stop Believing
Childhood has a rather inconsiderate habit of moving faster than parents would like.
Christmas seems to make that especially obvious.
The baby becomes the toddler.
The toddler becomes the preschooler.
The preschooler becomes the big kid who suddenly wants to know exactly how Santa gets into a house without a chimney.
And somehow it all happens between boxes of Christmas decorations.
We can’t slow it down.
But we can preserve a little piece of it.
This Christmas, give your child time with Santa.
Let them ask the questions.
Let them tell the stories.
Let them whisper the secrets.
Let them laugh.
Let them wonder.
And let us photograph the magic while it’s still completely real to them.
