I adore doing “Day After” portrait sessions! On Jessica and Levi’s wedding day it was about a million degrees outside, so we did lots of great portraits in their beautiful church. A few weeks later, back in Tallahassee, we met up at Maclay Gardens to get images that are totally different than on their wedding day. Since the wedding was in Alabama, it was such a fun way to incorporate some Tallahassee into the day!
Abby and Travis were married on the lawn in front of the Southwood House with a garden reception in the back. It was the longest day of the year and the perfect start to the summer. From the ceremony on the lawn to the tented reception, everything just said “Southern Summer” to me… including the severe weather alerts and the thunderstorms that scooted by just before the ceremony!

I don’t think I have had a wedding couple laugh as much as Jessica and Levi. From sunup to sundown, these two smiled and laughed. Jessica fought back tears as she walked down the aisle of her childhood church in Scottsboro, Alabama, but as soon as she took Levi’s hand, it was back to smiles and laughter. Having a couple so in love and so happy to be together just makes my job easy. More than easy, it makes my job fun. We laughed just as much as they did and my only regret is that we don’t get to do it every weekend!
Sometimes you meet a couple that just fit together perfectly. They make sense. Diana and Tom are definitely that couple. Even though they met when they were just teenagers, six years later they are even more in love. They are a perfectly balanced couple and they really make you feel like they were made to be together. It was such an honor for Olyn and I to be their wedding photographers!+
One of my most favoritest things to photograph is brides. Unfortunately, on most wedding days, there is a big time crunch and we are not able to do as many different things as I would like. For Diana, I was overjoyed to do a bridal portrait session the week before her wedding. It was so much fun to go out to Maclay Gardens and play with this gorgeous bride and her stunning dress!
Lori and Miguel had the most intimate sweet wedding here in Tallahassee at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and Dorothy B. Oven Park. I love intimate weddings, its such a compliment when I am among the couple’s closest friends and family for their wedding day. Lori and Miguel kept things really simple and let me concentrate their photography time mostly on the two of them together, which made the day super fun, but also gave them some really special time together. I have to say that Miguel’s excitement was totally contagious– he was so excited to be marrying Lori that it really made me even more excited to photograph his joy!
