I think most people would think we are a bit strange if we asked them to wear a tutu and come hiking in the woods with us for a portrait, but Elizabeth just asked when and where. She was an absolutely amazing model and really helped us bring a vision we had to reality. I am so thankful for her open-mindedness and her patience as she had to hold so many difficult poses as we tweaked and modified things. We are really enjoying these editorial shoots and are finding new inspiration to stretch our creativity and art, so you are going to see a lot more of these popping up on the blog!

Most photographers think I am crazy, but I LOVE doing big family portraits! Yes, it can be wild and crazy, but I think that is half the fun! The other half is capturing a portrait of everyone together and knowing that it will be treasured by so many. The Millenders were especially fun– they are such a lighthearted, laid back group– our job was easy! The biggest win for me was drawing the shy Miss S out and getting her smiles. At the end of the session I asked if she wanted to sit in daddy’s lap or mommy’s lap and she told me, “I want to sit with YOU!” 🙂 It absolutely made my afternoon!

I absolutely positively hate it when I can’t be at a session! This one was especially sad since it was Reese’s last baby plan session and the reason I couldn’t be there was that I was stuck in the dentist chair! ICK! So Olyn got to have all the fun with Little Miss Reese who is now 1 and a wild woman! LOL!

I was so incredibly flattered when Baby Emily’s mommy brought her into the studio to start her Watch Me Grow plan. She told me it was the only thing she really wanted when she found out that she was pregnant– in fact, her coworkers got together and gave her a Long’s Photography gift certificate at her shower! How cool! Little teeny Emily was only about five days old when she came in to see me and she is such a sweetheart! You can already tell she is working to get her daddy wrapped around her little finger!
