I have done so many engagement portraits I can’t even begin to guess at the number. In all those sessions I had no idea this was something you need to practice for. 🙂 Kristina and Matt apparently haven’t taken a lot of photos together as a couple, and so everything was blamed on the fact that they hadn’t practiced enough. Any time they tripped or misunderstood what we asked them to do, it was all because of the lack of “practice”. So, now I have my fingers crossed this was enough “practice” for the wedding! 🙂

You have to love a little girl with January 19th for a birthday. Its just the bestest day ever to be born! 🙂 Miss girl and I just happen to be birthday twins, so I was so excited when her parents brought her in for her first portrait session. She is one very lucky little lady, not only because of her cool birthday, but also because she is lucky enough to have an awesome big brother who is a pro at getting her to smile!

I get to smile when I post this because I know Dylan’s mom doesn’t think we really got any smiles from his three month portraits last week. Not only did adorable little chunky Dyan smile, but he gave me a huge variety of different expressions– sweet angelic smiles, serious GQ looks, big stretches and of course his irresistible little smile! Can’t you just hear his mommy’s excitement when she sees how awesome he really was?

When you meet Miss Maggie Kate you can instantly imagine her as a teenager and man are her parents in for it! She is ferociously independent and is only happy when she is doing her own thing. She definitely keeps you on your toes and is what I consider to be the most wonderful kind of friend– the one you always get in trouble with!

Countless families have albums full of images, but they tend to be missing one person… mom! She is the one who is always behind the camera, or the one that is adjusting the clothes, bribing the children, etc. In honor of Mother’s Day, we are fighting against the “Missing Mom Syndrome” with a portrait special just for moms and their kids!
On April 13th and 14th we will offering complementary mini-sessions for moms with their children. The session is about a mother’s relationship with her children and all images will be photographed in black and white. Children must be older than five years of age to participate and sorry dad, this is one is just for the moms! There is no charge for the session and mom will have an opportunity to come back into the studio for an order session to purchase any prints she would like. We will have special print packages available for purchase at the order session. (If you can bring dad along its a great way to pick out the Mother’s Day present you really want!)
To reserve your session, contact the studio at 850.339.5799 or Linda@LongsPhotography.com Here are a few examples of the relationship images we will be capturing:
