Alissa and Josh

After the wedding Saturday, I had to race down to Gainesville to third shoot Alissa and Josh's wedding. That's right-- third shoot. It may seem like overkill, but when a wedding has this many details, having someone to just cover the minute details can really come in handy! I always have a blast shooting with Monica and Jacob and it allows me to do my own thing and try a few new creative things.

The reflective top of the hotel desk made for a really cool ring shot.Still playing with the rings-- this time with the bride's heels.I absolutely fell in love with the flowers-- pink orchids and peonies. A girl's dream!Again, while Monica and Jacob covered the "big picture", I got in for all the fine detail.I really love how Jewish weddings have the bride escorted by both her parents-- I am so proud of Alissa's mom and dad for keeping it together!A wide shot of the ceremony, which was a major challenge for the three of us to shoot in a distinctly different way.
A little bit of portrait fun by the "wedding tree" at the UF Hilton.
I can't lie-- these have got to be the most awesome, stupendous, cool and kick ass centerpieces I have ever had at a wedding. I think I must have photographed them 3o different ways. I love the pink uplighting on the walls-- it definitely set the mood and gave the room atmosphere! We each chose a person to focus on during the toasts so we had everything covered-- I lucked out and got the beautiful bride!Finally-- the absolutely insane, hilarious Hora!www.LongsPhotography.com

A double-header with IMJ

I spent the weekend with my friends Monica and Jacob of IMJ Photography. It is always refreshing to second shoot-- when you are not responsible for all the staple shots, you really can be creative and push yourself to notice all kinds of things.

Wedding One was Lindsay and Mike in Jacksonville. While Lindsay got ready, we borrowed her rings-- I found the pages of the bible were a fitting place for detail shots.
Lindsay and Mike chose to see each other before the ceremony, so we had an opportunity to capture their private moment.
I have had to fight a few guys in the past to keep them still for formals, but this was definitely a new tactic! I don't think all the guests were that focused on the exchange of vows... This one might take you a minute to get....
If you couldn't get the angle of the above shot, here's your hint!
I loved how much fun Lindsay and Michael had all day-- they were all smiles!
This has to be the cutest groom's cake I have EVER seen! And I think I'm not the only one with that opinion.
Lindsay and Mike had a rose petal farewell to see them off from the country club.
Wedding Two was in Gainesville with Sarah and Greg. And again, I had the rings and a few minutes to play. One awesome pair of shoes and 10 minutes of balancing... voila!
Before Sarah and Greg's wedding, I decided to give myself a challenge and focus on one thing to tell the story. (I did a lot more than just the challenge, but I really like the way it turned out) The focus was hands. Hands with rings, hands with the dress, holding hands, etc.Sarah and Greg also chose to see each other before the ceremony, which worked out well, as we JUST beat the torrental downpour!
Sarah and her dad waiting just outside the Baughman Center, in the rain, waiting to walk down the aisle.
The Baughman Center is such a great ceremony location-- with lots of natural light and an intimate feel, I am so jealous I don't get to shoot there more often!
Again, during the ceremony, I focused on their hands and created this series.
The reception had to be one of the most active I have ever seen! The dancefloor was packed all night!
At the end of the night, Sarah and Greg snuck away for some romantic portraits.
Thanks again to Monica and Jacob for letting me stretch my creative wings and have some fun! :)

Lindsay and Ryan

I got to take a backseat this weekend, as I assisted Monica and Jacob of IMJ Photography with Lindsay and Ryan's wedding. It is so nice sometimes to not be the main photographer-- I got to play around, get some fun shots and focus on the details of this elaborate wedding!

I really cannot say enough nice things about Lindsay, Ryan and their families. Everyone was incredibly sweet and welcoming! Although I didn't meet the couple until their wedding day, I felt like I had always known them.

Lindsay had the most beautiful bouquet of roses and peonies, in fact there were roses almost everywhere you looked!Since I had time to play, I had some fun with Lindsay's sexy shoes. Too bad they weren't the most comfortable!

Three photographers and strict rules on photography during the ceremony... forces you to be creative. The ceremony was broadcast into the lobby of the church, so at least this is one different angle on their ceremony!Rolls Royce, baby! You cannot have an awesome car like this and not work it into your portraits! We had a few brief moments out by the water before the reception. Lindsay and Ryan were such good sports-- 95 degree heat on a floating dock that was rocking back and forth-- what troopers! This image was a challenge from Jacob. During the father-daughter dance, he said that he wished he could get a photo of the dance with the chandalier and amazing rose arrangement in it, but the videographer was in a less than ideal location. So... there I am lying on the floor to stay out of the video and keep the video light out of sight. I love Lindsay's facial expressions-- she had so much energy and enthusiasm the entire day. She really kept me laughing all day!Is this an exit or what?? Lindsay's mom planned the whole thing as a surprise-- for the couple, the guests, even the father of the bride!

Ann-Marie and Jack; Annie and Aaron

I went down to Gainesville for the weekend to third shoot Ann-Marie and Jack's wedding at the Baughman Center at UF. I had the extreme privilege to work with two amazing photographers-- Monica and Jacob of IMJ Photography. (www.imjphotography.com) It is so refreshing to work with other photographers who you respect-- it recharges your creativity and pushes you to produce better, more innovative images. Ann-Marie and Jack were an awesome, fun-loving couple who really made the day a blast!

Here are Monica and Jacob, all decked out in their gear:

And to all of my past clients reading this-- here is proof that I am not the only nutty photographer who will roll around on the ground to get a great shot!
Olyn was yet again in Panama City-- this time to photograph Annie and Aaron's wedding. Working with a laid back couple like Annie and Aaron really makes this job a lot of fun! Especially when you have an adventurous bridal party... but we will keep the blog G rated!
