Wow.... Thats a lot of weddings!

Now that the holidays are so close, we decided to give our 2007 brides a walk down memory lane. :) We have re-posted all the 2007 wedding galleries until December 13th. We wanted our brides to have an opportunity to share their images again and they can also purchase any prints they would like in time for the holidays! (Oh, and our blog stalkers can spend hours looking through thousands of images on the proofing site) :)

Which brings up an important point-- All holiday orders for prints MUST be received no later than December 13th. After December 13th, orders will be delivered after the holidays. So, if you are thinking of giving a print or two this season, be sure not t0 wait too long!

2007 has been an amazing year of weddings for us! Thank you to all of our wonderful couples for letting us have the best job in the universe!

Melisa and Jerry

Olyn and I were at the Retreat at Bradley's Pond yesterday for Melisa and Jerry's wedding. I had such a fabulous time with the couple and their families-- I definitely see where they get their humor from!

Melisa and Jerry each had some pretty impressive rings... oh, and they had wedding bands too!The Bride's room was pretty much a total frenzy. The dress arrived a bit later than the bride, so the girls kicked it into high gear to get her ready on time!Yesterday was really the first wedding this season that felt like fall! I swear this is the first year I have lived in Tallahassee where the leaves have really changed.Olyn shot this series of Jerry as he stood at the alter during the processional. I absolutely love how his expression changes to the bottom shot once he sees his stunning bride!Melissa's processional was a bit unconventional- in an incredibly personal way. She had each of her three brothers walk her down the aisle. Each brother was given about 15 yards before passing her off to the next. With the ceremony scheduled at sunset, we had to race to get the last of the light for portraits. Thankfully, we managed to fit everything in!My absolute favorite shot of Melisa-- her eyes look amazing! Her amazing bridesmaids pitched in again to bustle her dress... an eight point french bustle!First dance.Myra Jean's did an amazing job as always, but I absolutely loved the groom' s cake!Steve kept the dance floor packed all night-- it was an absolute blast!

Big Girl Savannah

I always title my baby plan posts with "Baby" and the child's name. Well, Savannah came in this week for her LAST baby plan session... so she's not really a baby anymore! I can't believe she will turn a year old in two weeks!

The 411 on Long's Photography Gift Certificates!

Ok-- so the question of the week is "Do you offer gift certificates?" Why, yes we do! :) We have gift certificates available in ANY denomination, so if you are looking to give someone a family session, a baby plan, pay for part of their wedding photography, or simply give them a gift certificate equal to a 5x7 or 8x10 print-- we can do it!

What's better? All of our gift certificates come completely wrapped and ready to go under the tree! I wish I could share some photos of the packaging, but I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone! Trust me-- its way cool. :)

What could be better than that?? (I know, I know... I need one of those infommerical audiences that is WAY enthusiastic! So, just add mental sound effects for me.) From now until December 20th we will DELIVER any gift certificates over $150. So, if you are worried about a gift arriving in the mail that your nosey spouse might open, or you don't have time to shop around, just give us a call and we can take care of everything.

Amanda and Damon

I am really looking forward to Amanda and Damon's wedding this June. With the couple living in Nashville, I first met with Amanda's parents about the wedding. You know its going to be a great wedding when you already love the family! I finally met Damon yesterday for the couple's engagement session and I also had the pleasure of meeting his mom. With the bar set pretty high by Amanda and her family-- I have to say Damon and his mom are equally awesome! www.LongsPhotography.com

Talk about flattery! Autumn's mom decided she had to have me photograph her daughter for holiday gifts-- and drove from Orlando for the session! :) I loved meeting them both and spending some time with them at Dorothy B. Oven Park.

Holiday Portraits-- Day Three

Hmm... the blog is starting to sound like a Christmas song... on the third day of holiday portraits, I saw lots of families hugging, many many puppies, and a baby pouting... well it doesn't really rhyme or go to the music, but its how yesterday went!

Jennifer and Kevin

I spent the entire day yesterday at St. George Island for Jennifer and Kevin's wedding. These two are one of my favorite couples-- they are so much in love and they absolutely crack me up. Jennifer is one of my self-admitted blog stalkers and I love getting emails from her about my latest posts. Hope she has as much fun checking out this post!

Wedding bands. The flowergirl, Annaleisa, was hilarious-- she didn't want to pose when I asked, but anytime I was busy working on something else, she would stand by me with this smile waiting for me to take her picture. :) I show lots of brides coming down the aisle, but I hardly ever post the groom's processional. So, here's some love for the groom! It was such an ideal day for a beach wedding-- the temperature was perfect, there was only a slight wind and there were hundreds of "dive bombing" pelicans out on the water. :)I think these two grinned throughout the entire ceremony.I finished the family portraits fairly quickly and spent a good amount of time on the beach with Jennifer and Kevin.
The reception was held at the beach house across the street.I think pretty much everyone hit the dance floor at one point in the evening!Even Noah had a dance with his grandma! I ran off with Jennifer and Kevin for a few romantic portraits at the end of the night. But the last kisses went to Jenn's doggie, Winston!

The Dalbey Family

Yesterday's bride, Jennifer, contacted me a few weeks ago to do portraits of her Uncle Dale and new cousin Noah. Normally, I never take another booking on a wedding day, but they were really excited about beach portraits and a morning session would give plenty of time before Jennifer's coverage began.

I got to St. George just after sunrise and the weather was absolutely beautiful! We played on the beach with Dale, Noah, Henry the doggie and Noah's grandparents. I am so glad I made an exception for this portrait shoot-- it was so wonderful to spend time with such an amazing family!

Stephanie

Many of y'all have either met Stephanie or heard of her-- she is the woman who keeps me sane. :) She is the one who organizes the office, manages print orders, assists me at weddings and in general does her best to keep everything in order! In addition to being phenomenal at her job, she is an absolute riot and a wonderful friend.

We snuck out of the office this afternoon for her "senior" portraits. While most senior portraits are of high school students, we didn't see why we couldn't do them for college as well!

A night at the fair

Last night was the opening night of the North Florida Fair. Olyn and I took Thatcher and had an absolute blast! The fair will be in town from Nov. 8 through the 18th. If you go, make sure you stop by the Star98 booth and register to win a $250 gift certificate from Long's Photography!

Ok, enough business talk-- here is our night at the fair!

Waiting with daddy for the pigs to race.
Racing pigs: Thatcher watching the pigs!
Thatcher absolutely loves animals. He routinely hugs both of our dogs-- so last night he thought the animals in the petting zoo needed hugs as well.
And this is the llama that was on the other end of the hug.
We only went on one ride, but Thatch thought it was a riot. He held onto the handles and "revved" his horse and waved to daddy everytime we went by.
We ended the night with a bag of cotton candy, which went over very well. :) It actually went all over all three of us!

Will's 11 month portraits

This morning I was at Goodwood Museum for Will's 11 month portraits. I can't believe he has gotten so big! I really can't call him a baby anymore! He is getting to be such a wild man, I think his mom is in trouble soon!

The Strickland Family

I went over to the Strickland's home in Monticello yesterday afternoon for some family portraits. With a beautiful sunset, crisp fall weather and a rustic setting, it was a photographer's dream! Despite his best efforts, I think I even managed to capture a few of Corey's smiles!

Jennifer and Sam

I ran over to Alligator Point yesterday for Jenn and Sam's engagement portrait session. I was so surprised when I got there-- there were swarms of mosquitos! Jenn and Sam were such troopers-- cuddling and smiling while we were eaten alive! So, here is their blog entry, as I sit here covered in calomine lotion! :)

Robyn and Ty

Robyn and Ty exchanged vows at sunset yesterday here in Tallahassee. With perfect weather, great music, and delicious food-- the party lasted late into the evening!

The shoes, and the bride getting ready-Its always amusing to me to see how many girls have to help get a bride into a gown!A slightly different take on a ring shot.Robyn and Ty were married underneath a chuppah made by Ty and the father of the bride using the bride's grandmother's tablecloth. With the chairs set up in a circle, all of their friends and family stood close for the ceremony. They were showered with rose petals as they came back down the aisle. With the ceremony at sunset, I had to use some interesting lighting techniques for the bride and groom's portraits.I love the alumni center-- its so open feeling, especially with the high vaulted ceilings! The hora-The awesome cake by the Cake Shop:I love this-- two dive for the garter, two run away and others stand and watch.Acme Rythmn and Blues did a great job keeping the dance floor packed all night.
