Tonya's Maternity Portraits

Tonya came by the studio tonight for maternity portraits with her family. Her girls are an absolute riot! I think Baby Nolan is really in for it from these bossy ladies! :)

I was out at St. George Island yesterday for Melisa and Jerry's engagement portraits. Although our timing was not as planned, I think the session went great and we got some beautiful images!

What happens when you leave your production manager unsupervised...

Many of yall have met my production manager, Stephanie. She is the one who keeps my head on straight-- she handles all of the print orders, the office details, and a long list of odd jobs. Well, last week she was labeling and organizing some stuff for me. Olyn and I were in the office chatting while Thatcher had a snack... and this is what I came back to!! :)

Baby Daisy

I spent my morning at Baby Daisy's house for her newborn portraits. She is so cute and tiny-- less than a week old! She is an amazingly good-natured infant and was so alert and sweet throughout the entire session. Its hard to believe her mom was here only a few weeks ago for maternity portraits!Big Brother Marcus was a riot-- I just couldn't leave him out! http://www.longsphotography.com/

Tallahassee Wedding and Reception Services Magazine

Hey-- we've been published! :) I finally got to see a copy of the current issue of Tallahassee Wedding and Reception Services magazine, which has Allison and Scott's wedding as one of the feature stories. You can check out the magazine, or see their gallery in the wedding section of our website.

The wedding was held at Trinity Methodist Church, with the reception at the nearby Governor's Club. Missy Gunnels did an amazing job with the flowers and decor, while Sandy Stone created an adorable and yummy cake.

Last night was the big Fall University Center Bridal Show here in Tallahassee. There was an amazing turnout at the show and we had so much fun hanging out with everyone! A special thank you to all the Long's Photography brides who came by to see us and put in a good word for us with all the new brides!

For those of you who didn't make it out to the show, I just wanted to share a few quick snapshots of our booth-- you really can't do a whole lot with 6 ft of space!! :)

Janay and Chris

I travelled to Bonifay yesterday for Janay and Chris' wedding at Waits Mansion. The entire event had a very antique feeling, from the bride's lace dress to the mansion itself it had an air of Old South.

Janay's beautiful lace gown.
Her very retro looking shoes.Janay's untraditional, yet very fitting bouquet.Although Janay spent her morning worrying about the weather, she managed to look so serene in all of her portraits.Although the ceremony was moved inside with an hour to go, the weather cleared up at the last moment and everyone rushed to move everything back to the front lawn. The sun went down during the ceremony, casting the most beautiful light on the couple as they exchanged vows.
After the ceremony, there were only a few moments of daylight left, so we rushed to make every minute count.
With everything else so traditional and antique feeling, it was so fun to have a funky modern cake!Janay and Chris shared their first dance underneath the lights behind the mansion.Janay and Chris were one of my most loving couples. Not only did their love for one another really melt your heart, but their love for their family and friends really enveloped everyone there.

Ashley & Kane

Ashley and Kane had the kind of wedding that people talk about for months. It wasn't the flowers (which were pretty), it wasn't the dress (which was stunning) and it wasn't the food (which was SO yummy). It was the feeling of family and friendship. I don't think any other group of wedding guests has ever been so welcoming and friendly.

Ashley used pears, apples and limes as a green accent in her centerpieces.
The private residence at Schlitz pond was the ideal setting for their intimate wedding.
Ashley was so excited to be getting married! I think this smile stayed on her face all day! Held in front of an outdoor fireplace, the ceremony was personal and endearing.Ashley and Kane are a photographer's dream couple! They not only gave me lots of time for portraits, but they were incredibly laid-back and trusting in my vision. The results speak for themselves... Katie's Cakes and Catering did an amazing job with the food and the cakes. The bride's cake was so cute and honestly one of the best tasting cakes I have had in ages!
The back of the residence had an open barn where the dancing portion of the reception was held. The evening took on a feeling of September as the air cooled off and you could still hear all the frogs by the pond.
Ashley and Kane gave their guests drink coozies to remember the occasion and the hard to forget date-- 09.08.07.
I think every single guest hit the dancefloor for at least one dance! This is one wedding where I never saw the dancefloor empty!
Tom and the Cats did an AMAZING job entertaining the guests! Tom himself even worked the dancefloor- Vendors:

Heather's Maternity Portraits

Heather's maternity portraits were originally scheduled for last week, but a family emergency forced her to cancel. It was her midwife who pushed her to reschedule them as she needed to do something for herself before the baby arrives. I am so thankful to that midwife! I loved meeting Heather yesterday and hearing about her two boys and Baby Daisy who should be here in a few weeks!
